Zero Antibiotics
(Noun phrase)
The collective commitment to minimise antibiotic residues throughout the production chain by strengthening screening methods. As part of our commitment to transparency and responsibility, the French dairy sector guarantees consumers that milk is free from any antibiotic residues. For more than 50 years, dairy sector professionals have come together to control milk quality using methods and processes harmonised on a national level. In 2019, through an initiative to strengthen controls, decided collectively by the sector and in agreement with public authorities, systematic testing of milk samples was introduced on tank milk at the time of delivery, in addition to milk tank testing at the processing site or collection centre.
In addition to this control framework, the Cniel has made information kits available to farmers to facilitate the handling of treated animals by different workers on the dairy farm.
