Dairy Sector
(Noun)
The gathering of members from the same sector to share know-how and expertise in order to optimise performance and generate innovative solutions.“Guarantee delicious, nutritious, quality dairy products within a sustainable production model, while conserving natural resources and ensuring fair remuneration for all actors in the sector.”
We have high ambitions and the results we have achieved while working together are equally impressive. In 2020, the dairy industry – France’s leading agri-food economy – generated a trade surplus of €3.5 billion.
Every day, farmers, dairies, distributors and retailers across France work to produce 24 billion litres of cow’s milk per year, of which 14 billion are sold in France and transformed into some 1500 different products, for everyone to enjoy.
The dairy sector benefits the environment by storing 328 kg of carbon per hectare each year, with 560 000km of hedges and 2.39 million hectares of grasslands.
