Environment
(Variable Noun)
Describes the commitment of an entire sector to farm, grow and produce foods of the finest quality while protecting the natural world around us.Environmental issues are multi-faceted and can include carbon, water, biodiversity and recycling. Recycling plastic is a particularly hot topic for food and agricultural sectors, which have taken great strides in this area.
In 2020, 73% of used packaging and plastics from agricultural supplies introduced to the market were collected. Around 90% of these materials were recycled (excluding mulch films). The French agricultural sector is the only one in the world to have created and developed an organisation that has achieved such successful results in collection and recycling. The company was developed and co-ordinated by environmental agricultural group ADIVALOR.
When it comes to processing, dairy manufacturers and CITEO, France’s leading household recycling organisation, have joined forces to create a recycling stream that promotes the use of recycled polystyrene in yoghurt pots. As a result of this circular economy, the yoghurt pot will become yoghurt pot mark II by 2025.
