Attractiveness

(Uncountable Noun)

The capacity of a profession or region to make itself attractive by offering fair remuneration and an optimal quality of life.
Enhancing the attractiveness of the dairy sector is a major challenge for its future survival.
According to France’s 2020 agricultural census, 58% of agricultural holders are aged over 50. For this reason, improving social and economic performance is the cornerstone of the France Terre de Lait initiative.

The Cniel and dairy sector stakeholders are first and foremost committed to ensuring that everyone in the sector, farmers and businesses alike, can earn a decent living from their profession. Creating value, innovating through collective research, and producing economic analyses are drivers that we deploy on a daily basis.

We monitor how working conditions are improving for farmers, dairy processors and soon for distributors among dairy section managers, using key assessment criteria, which are already showing encouraging improvements.

Connecting with young people, education and training programmes, and promoting roles within the dairy sector remain a firm priority.. Only with a solid social and economic foundation can the sector welcome future generations and satisfy the evolving demands of society.
