ALIGNING OUR PRIORITIES WITH A RESPONSIBLE EATING APPROACH

Food performance

Food choices and purchases have become a political statement, reflecting societal values, even if consumers may not always be aware of the impact of their choices.
Convenient to use and easily accessible, milk and dairy products constitute the foundation of a healthy, affordable diet.
Even populations with a modest income can access staple dairy products, guaranteeing a nutrition-rich, well-balanced diet.
The dairy sector must improve communication on the benefits of dairy products and on production and processing methods.

RAISE AWARENESS OF THE ESSENTIAL ROLE OF DAIRY PRODUCTS AS PART OF A WELL-BALANCED DIET, AND OF THEIR PRODUCTION METHODS

The France Terre de Lait initiative must support the dairy sector to continue to win consumer trust and confidence.
To succeed, it is important to provide reliable and transparent information on milk origin, quality, and production and processing methods.
To continue to attract consumers, the dairy sector co-finances research programmes to increase knowledge on the composition of dairy products, their nutritional benefits and their impact on health.

PROMOTE SUSTAINABLE FRENCH EXPORTS

To promote responsible French exports while remaining mindful of local production and food customs and cultures, French dairy producers and processors are steering their export strategy toward value-added products that complement local produce already available in emerging markets, rather than being in direct competition.
Through the France Terre de Lait social responsibility initiative, the French dairy sector has elected to continue to export dairy products without supplanting local production.
