Climate

(Variable noun)

Meteorological conditions dependent on the capacity of people to strive for a better world for all.
The dairy sector is responsible for around 7% of greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) in France.Together we are committed to reducing this level and mitigating the effects of global warming.

Initial efforts by farmers and the dairy industry already saw a 6% reduction in the carbon footprint between 2016 and 2021. Throughout the dairy chain, raising awareness among stakeholders, and their commitment to improving practices and environmental audits through the ‘Low Carbon Dairy Farm’ initiative, are major areas of progress led in conjunction with the Regional Interprofessional Centres for the Dairy Economy (CRIELS). In industry, optimising energy across processes ensures significant progress in this area.

A number of specific measures will help determine future considerations and set new ambitious objectives.
These include research and development focused on 10 specific areas, identifying new innovations, and integrating the retail and catering/restaurant sectors within our approach.
